Reflection of a True Master is a special monthly series which sees us dive into the minds of the true Masters of the EPL. This week, we take a look at Shkodran Mustafi.
Unfortunately, the German’s upturn in form and subsequent run in the first-team has come to a premature end, following the suspension of the English Premier League (EPL) due to the Covid-19 situation in the United Kingdom.

Despite that, Mustafi has continued to prove himself worthy of adulation – this time, though, through his actions off the pitch.
That’s because the 27-year-old has proven himself to be a role model for the ‘Stay at Home’ movement, which encourages individuals to remain at home at all times, unless necessary, in order to stop the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Cynics might argue that Mustafi is so good at staying at home because that’s what he’s used to, having previously been frozen out of the first-team by former Arsenal manager Unai Emery. In fact, some Gunners fans might suggest that he continue doing so even after the resumption of the EPL.
But we at FBS know better. The World Cup winning defender remains an asset on and off the pitch, and that is why he is our focus for this edition of Star-Track.
FBS says: Everyone’s got a take on how to do the #StayAtHome challenge, but Mustafi’s version must surely be among the best. Not only does he demonstrate his ball juggling skills, he does it while simultaneously washing his hands clean AND entertaining his two children. #Multitasker
FBS says: ‘To err is human’, as the saying goes. Well, most Arsenal fans will be able to tell you just how very ‘human’ Mustafi can be when he’s on the pitch. Here, though, we see the centre-back showing his human side in a different manner – by letting everyone know that even a professional footballer like him, who has to watch their diet closely, has a weakness for chocolate ice cream. #Relatable

FBS says: It can be especially tempting to binge on sweet treats when you’re staying at home all day. Mustafi is no different, but he has the perfect solution to battle those sugar cravings – by attaching a stern looking picture of Arsenal nutritionist Richard Allison to his cabinet of sweets. We reckon a picture of one’s mother glaring disapprovingly would also do the trick. #Control
FBS says: Staying at home and indoors can lead to a lack of Vitamin D. Mustafi knows that, which is why he still goes to his balcony ever so often to get some sunlight. But we’re not sure what’s brighter – the sun, or his megawatt smile. #Pictureperfect
