Pep Guardiola to continue as Manchester City boss till 2025

Rival fans hoping for an end to the Pep Guardiola era of dominance with Manchester City will be left disappointed, with the Spaniard committing his future to the club till 2025.

The 51-year-old – whose existing deal would have run out at the end of this season – has agreed a two-year contract extension to stay on at the comfiest job he will ever have.

Fuelled by oil money lucrative sponsorships from totally legitimate companies, Guardiola’s side has established themselves as the undisputed kings of England, although their endeavours to rule Europe have so far been as successful as Gianni Infantino’s attempt at passing off as a gay and disabled African Muslim migrant worker from Qatar, who sometimes feels like a woman too, but only as an afterthought.

Guardiola, who joined City in 2016, has so far won four English Premier League (EPL) titles, one FA Cup, and four League Cups. This season, however, they currently find themselves five points behind league leaders Arsenal, who are led by Guardiola’s one-time protégé Mikel Arteta.

Having previously taken a break from football following his successful exploits at Barcelona due to ‘burnout’ from all that winning, some rival fans were hoping for a similar turn of events for Guardiola this time round.

However, Guardiola claims he feels trusted and well-supported at City, with stacks of cash evidently providing great lumbar support for him at the Etihad Stadium.

“I am so pleased to be staying at Manchester City for another two years,” said Guardiola. “I can’t say thank you enough to everyone at the club for trusting me. I am happy and comfortable here. I have everything I need to do my job as best as possible.

“I know the next chapter of this club will be amazing for the next decade. It happened over the last ten years, and it will happen in the next ten years because this club is so stable. From day one I felt something special being here. I cannot be in a better place.

“I still have the feeling there is more we can achieve together and that is why I want to stay and continue fighting for trophies.”
