Goodbye Emery, hello Nuno? Wolves manager installed as favourite to take over Gunners

Could Unai Emery’s days of tormenting Arsenal and their fans soon be over?

According to the bookmakers, yes. And the man that they have recently installed as the odds-on favourite to succeed the Spaniard at the Emirates Stadium is a surprising one: Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Emery has struggled to get Arsenal clicking this season despite having signed players like Nicolas Pepe, David Luiz and Dani Ceballos during the summer. Things have gotten so bad that they even struggled to earn a point against relegation candidates Southampton over the weekend.

We at FBS personally think Nuno is a decent choice for the Gunners. Wolves have punched above their weight continuously since they returned to the English Premier League (EPL) last season, and, despite a slow start this campaign, they are currently fifth in the league...which is above Arsenal.

Surprisingly, though, some Arsenal fans would rather suffer the torture of Emeryball for another season than see Nuno at the club. Perhaps they have gotten too used to mediocrity?

Or maybe they just don’t want to end up being as dysfunctional as their former title rivals Manchester United, by hiring their own Portuguese version of David Moyes.

Or it could just be that Arsenal fans are really, really, REALLY, fussy.

But here’s a word of warning - don’t be too fussy, eh?

And really, is Nuno all that bad? After all, he seems to have have achieved quite a lot in his life so far...
