Alexander-Arnold slammed... for poor performance against 'farmers'

England wrapped up their European Championship qualifiers with yet another big win, this time against Kosovo on Monday morning (SGT time),  once again raising expectations of English fans around the world that they are finally ready to win a major trophy.

The Three Lions ended the campaign with seven wins from eight matches and a goal differential of 31 (37 scored, 6 conceded). And it’s been an almost perfect international break for Gareth Southgate’s men - having also won against Montenegro 7-0 on Friday - it’s almost enough for one to ask the question, “Sterling who?”.

Of course, some fans still nitpick on some England failings, like Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross that exited the Pristina City Stadium so fast that it’s now being used as a model for Brexit.

Indeed, the Liverpool wing-back, who has often been called the best in the world by Reds fans, was made to look very ordinary against Kosovo - a team made up of farmers, plumbers and carpenters, according to Twitter.

And with competition for places for the right-back slot the toughest it has been in years, fans of opposing clubs were quick to call out Alexander-Arnold. Even though the result of the game never mattered at all.

Manchester United fans, of course, did not miss any opportunity to take a shot at anything Liverpool, offering up Aaron Wan Bissaka as a superior option to TAA. Kyle Walker, we heard (or made up), laughed when he saw the following tweet.

They even offered up a Chelsea player, because #anythingbutliverpool, right?

Liverpool fans, like their club, were quick on the counter-attack.

Not that they really cared, though.

Indeed, some fans noticed another potential Manchester Liverpool bust-up.

Of course, between all five English right-backs - Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, Alexander-Arnold, Wan-Bissaka and Reece James - only one has won Europe’s biggest club trophy, which essentially puts this argument to bed.
