EPL Round-up: Pulisic shines bright for Chelsea, Jamie VAR-dy denies resurgent Arsenal
After terrorising the home fans at Old Trafford for close to two years, the 30-year-old now looks set to call time on his United career after the Red Devils agreed to loan him to
dumping ground Inter Milan for the season.
With just three EPL goals for United since he joined them in 2018, it is safe to say that Sanchez and his reported £350,000-a-week (S$600,000) wage will not be much missed by the club’s fans.
Some fans are even considering drastic measures to ensure Sanchez never steps foot at Old Trafford again.
Indeed, there is a widespread belief among football fans that the deal to bring Sanchez from Arsenal to United – which saw Henrikh Mkhitaryan move the other way – is possibly the worst-ever player trade in the history of player trades.
The only good thing to come out of the trade? That infamous announcement video of Sanchez playing “Glory Glory Man United” on the piano, which has since entered meme-folklore.
It appears that some believe Sanchez will leave Old Trafford in the same way he entered.
Is it coincidence that Sanchez’s form dropped so drastically once he moved to United? Maybe not. He was always one of Arsene Wenger’s favourites, after all.
Was this the moment that Fuchs-ed Sanchez up forever?
At least Sanchez is already used to having to defend immediately after passing the ball to Romelu Lukaku.
Or maybe it’s not so much a case of United ditching Sanchez, as it is Sanchez ditching United.
